1. What does Article Manager do?
Article Manager makes it easy for you to fully administrate and
manage a website which needs constant updating of articles, news
stories, headlines, or editorials.
When a user logs in all they need to do in order to create an article
is enter in the articles content, and click save. Depending on the
user's access level the article is published live to the website
or held for the editor to review and approve.
When articles have been posted live, site visitors can use a standard
or advanced search engine to find the article they're looking for
or browse through specific categories of articles.
Once your site visitors find the summary of the article they've
been looking for they can click on the heading and review the full
version of the article.
2. Can I customize the look and feel of the template the published
articles are output to?
Yes, the templates that the articles are published to can easily
be customized to suit the look and feel of your website.
3. Does Article Manager work on NT, Windows 2000, IIS, UNIX, Linux,
Solaris, Apache, etc?
Article Manager is cross-platform compatible and will have no problems
running on your webserver or operating system.
4. Does Article Manager allow for image uploads?
Yes, Article Manager allows for up to 25 uploaded images per an
article, this gives you the ability to add a more visual story line
to your articles. On top of this, you the user can decide where
images are placed within the content of the article.
5. Does Article Manager allow for multiple categories?
Yes, article manager includes a 'Category Editor' which allows admin
users to create multiple categories which articles can be added
to. For example, an administrator could create categories for National
News, World News, Entertainment, Sports, Business, etc.
6. Does Article Manager allow for multiple user accounts?
Article Manager allows for hundreds of login accounts with up to
4 different access levels: Writers, Trusted Writers, Editors or
Administrators. Writers can create articles and submit them for
review. Trusted writers can create articles and submit them to be
posted live on the site. Editors can review articles, add appropriate
changes to the articles, and approve for them to go live. Administrators
can manage the entire program by creating new user accounts, approving
articles, or writing their own.
Individual writers and editors can be granted access to all categories
or specific categories only.
7. Is it difficult to install?
No, not at all. Article Manager takes you through an installation
procedure that guides you right through it from start to finish,
and if you're having trouble installing it, feel free to request
a free installation.
8. What programming language is Article Manager written in?
Article Manager is written in Perl and runs as a CGI script.
9. Does it run on my web server or PC?
Article Manager is installed and runs on your web server. This lets
you access Article Manager from anywhere in the world, at any time
of day. All you need is your special username and password, a computer
and an internet connection.
10. What are the system requirements for Article Manager?
The system requirements for Article Manager are as follows:
Perl 5.004+
CGI Access
Web Server (UNIX/NT)
Must support SSI's (Server Side Includes)
11. What if I'm trying to sell Article Manager to my clients and
want to mark up the price. If they can see that I purchased the
software from interactivetools.com for less than I'm charging them,
what is going to prevent them from going to you directly in the
future?
If you want, you can rebrand Article Manager and market it as your
own!

If you don't feel up to rebranding, keep in mind that when purchasing
software like Article Manager for your client it will be you who
has had to take the time and effort to find the product, install
the software, test the software, learn how to use it, set it up
for them and then teach them how to use it as well. You can be open
with your client about the pricetag of the software, but bill for
your consulting time to research and configure it.
